How
do I go about removing software from my computer?
Posted 23 January 2002 Modern computers are complex beasts. When it comes to removing unwanted software
from your computer you can't just delete a file or directory. If you do that,
you may find the computer won't start properly. Modern programs add things,
and make changes to, many obscure parts of the computer. When deleting programs, the best way is to open the Control Panel, go to Add/Remove
programs and uninstall the program from there. If that doesn't work, or the program isn't listed, go to the program's group
by clicking start, programs, go the program's heading and running any
uninstall program that is listed. When none of these options are available then you may have to just delete the
program. If you do this, make sure you have the install disks for the program.
That way, if you do find problems you can reinstall and then perhaps try uninstalling
again.
